Spirit win CS2 BLAST Open Porto 2026: Five banger matches of playoffs

The final matches of BLAST Open Fall 2026 took place in Porto, Portugal, from Sept. 4 to Sept. 6. The path to these arena battles was tough, and only truly the best CS2 esports teams could earn their spots.

The playoff stage of BLAST Open Porto 2026 featured five matches.

Results at the CS2 BLAST Open Fall 2026 playoffs

Each match of the playoff stage came with the risk of elimination. Two teams started from the semifinals, as they finished first in their groups. Second and third group placements brought teams to the quarterfinals.

Match highlights: Key details from the CS2 playoff battles in Porto

In this section, we take a brief look at each playoff match.

Team Falcons 2:0 G2 Esports — Falcons win the first quarterfinal

In theory, Falcons are the favorites here — they are the IEM Cologne Major winners after all. However, G2 Esports have had decent matches during the group stage.

Falcons totally dominated their opening CT side on Inferno. Everything worked for them, as G2 could not establish map control and were losing individual duels. Nikola “NiKo” Kovač was a true hero for Falcons on this map, delivering multi-kills and holding his ground on both sites. Team Falcons had an 11:1 advantage in the first half!

G2 had a glimpse of hope as CTs. They won the pistols and a few following rounds. Then Falcons took a force buy — NiKo crashed G2 in a 1v2 situation with only the Dead Eagle on A site. Falcons needed one more round, and they got this impressive win on Inferno.

Dust II rounds were much closer, and often it felt like G2 lacked some luck. As an example, Nikita “HeavyGod” Martynenko won a 1v2 on pistols but had no time to defuse. Or Finn “karrigan” Andersen managed to clutch a round in a seemingly desperate situation.

Nemanja “huNter-” Kovač stepped up for his team on this map, with many good frags and even a mind-blowing 1v2 win in the second half, denying Falcons a quicker win.

Still, Team Falcons earned themselves a strong advantage and just delivered a final blow. Maksim “kyousuke” Lukin unleashed a hero play in the final round to cement this victory.

FURIA 1:2 Team Vitality — Vitality win the second quarterfinal

Vitality have been playing with a substitute throughout BLAST Open Fall 2026: Justinas “jL” Lekavičius instead of William “mezii” Merriman. They are on the journey to re-establish world domination.

FURIA totally dominated the start of Nuke, and they did not let Vitality unleash their signature comeback.

On the CT side, FURIA players demolished their opponents. Danil “molodoy” Golubenko delivered great OP shots. Mareks “YEKINDAR” Gaļinskis got impressive multikills. Kaike “KSCERATO” Cerato kept bombistes safe.

Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo was very active in his rotations, looking for frags and building advantages for his team.

Vitality was 2:10 down after the first half. Winning the pistols and a couple more rounds did not help them save the map.

Vitality were clearly activated on Cache, with close-to-flawless frags on the CT side. 

Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut went deep to earn early kills with his AWP. Robin “ropz” Kool demolished FURIA’s T packs entering the bombsite. Justinas “jL” Lekavičius delivered a 1v2 clutch with the last-moment defuse.

FURIA did not look like easy victims, though. They managed to tighten the game in the second half. Even those rounds Vitality won in the end could have gone both ways.

Dust II promised a close battle at the beginning, but then the match slipped into Vitality’s domination.

FURIA players were losing in positioning and direct duels. The back-and-forth action continued till round 8. After that, Vitality unleashed their unstoppable form.

“We played very well on the first map. We had a good momentum, doing a lot of things very well, including from my side. […] Cache was very close. […] On Dust II, we didn’t have enough to come back into this match.”

“We go to every tournament with hopes and the desire to win it. Many teams that come here have the same desire. It ends up with who can perform better.”

FURIA | FalleN

Team Spirit 2:0 Falcons — Spirit win the first semifinal

Team Spirit won the CS2 EWC 2026 just two weeks ago, and their performance remains exceptional. Spirit players are the top favorites of this event.

Despite close rounds on the T side of Nuke, Falcons could not win them. Spirit recovered from early disadvantages and clutched bomb plants. 

Team Falcons tried different approaches, but with the same result: a 1:11 first half. Finn “karrigan” Andersen saved the final round in a 1v1.

The CT side started better for Falcons: they brought the match score to 11:8 — thanks to breaking Spirit’s economy.

To stop this unfortunate streak, Dmitriy “sh1ro” Sokolov delivered amazing kills on his AWP. Spirit won the next, final round with a massive team rush.

The CT side went well for Team Falcons. Some moments to mention are an HD grenade frag by Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov to save a round and multi-kill chaos by karrigan. They still couldn’t achieve more than 6:6 in the first half.

Spirit had ups and downs, struggling with partial buys. Danil “donk” Kryshkovets helped Spirit take the second pistols, and that restarted their victorious run.

An eco win in the second half and karrigan’s aggression on force buy brought Falcons back to the series. René “TeSeS” Madsen denied a clutch to make the overtime one round away. m0NESY almost made it possible with some hero kills, but Boris “magixx” Vorobyev saved the day at the last moment.

MOUZ 2:0 Vitality — MOUZ win the second semifinal

MOUZ won BLAST Bounty Summer 2026. With new players on the roster, the team delivers great matches!

With two new players on the roster, MOUZ looked confident against their long-time rivals, Vitality. They’ve built an early advantage on Dust II as CTs — even if Vitality took a few good rounds themselves.

It’s worth mentioning Dorian “xertioN” Berman and his perfect hide behind the car to deny a good A aggression for Vitality — and to break their economy.

In the second half, Vitality caught the momentum after winning the pistols. Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut was amazing with AWP kills, specifically on bombsite A.

When it looked frightening for MOUZ, they found the round on force buy to be back in the game.

Dan “apEX” Madesclaire took an amazing round for Vitality thanks to a clutch on A.

To deny Vitality’s map point, Adrian “xelex” Vincze wins a crucial 1v1 versus Shahar “flameZ” Shushan.

On Mirage, MOUZ finished what they started on Dust II — and they defeated Vitality with even stronger confidence. 

It was a pistol win for Vitality, but MOUZ broke that early streak with a partial-buy win.

Both teams had amazing hero plays. ZywOo won a 1v1 duel against MOUZ’s AWPer, Ádám “torzsi” Torzsás. Later, he delivered a partial-buy round.

MOUZ took a few extremely close rounds at the end of the first half and the second pistols. Despite some great moments, Vitality couldn’t properly recover from that.

Team Spirit 3:1 MOUZ — Spirit win the grand final and the event

The winners of CS2 BLAST Open Fall 2026 will be decided in this best-of-five (Bo5) match.

Dust II

Spirit had a slow start on Dust II, but they were in with an extremely close round 5 to start building momentum. MOUZ gave a great fight: they lost quite a few very close rounds, and they won some. Thanks to a great B push, Spirit won a partial buy and finished the first half with 6:6.

With great pistols, Spirit set the atmosphere for their CT side.

Thanks to an aggressive attacking force and individual skills, MOUZ managed to take two rounds after the break.

Spirit delivered clear shots, specifically Andrey “tN1R” Tatarinovich and Dmitriy “sh1ro” Sokolov, to eliminate MOUZ players almost disrespectfully. MOUZ planted in the last two rounds but couldn’t deny retakes.

Mirage

On Mirage, sh1ro clutched the first pistols with crucial kills and enabled retake. That unlocked a great CT side for Spirit.

Dorian “xertioN” Berman won a 1v3 on A to somewhat stabilize the game. Still, MOUZ lacked very little to secure rounds on their T side: like with a clutch by Lotan “Spinx” Giladi in round 11.

MOUZ lost a close second pistol round, and Spirit took their advantage to 4:11. Well, MOUZ managed to recover from that! It wasn’t easy, as they had to battle from early disadvantages and retake bombsites.

Sh1ro was close to take round 12, but he just didn’t have a few moments to deny defuse. With their economy broken, Spirit fell apart and lost Mirage.

Ancient

Spirit secured the first pistols on Ancient. Then, MOUZ won their full buy — and that was it for them on the CT side.

Team Spirit took a partial buy from a number disadvantage. That started their amazing streak, including a 2v5 win from magixx and sh1ro.

Opening duels were extremely successful for Spirit in the first half. MOUZ took the second pistols and the following Spirit’s eco.

With four kills in Donut, Danil “donk” Kryshkovets proved that he was finally activated. Spirit needed one more round, and they got it, as MOUZ’s economy did not allow a full buy.

Nuke

MOUZ started Nuke on the T side, and it did not go too well for them. Sh1ro delivered great kills on pistols, again.

Adrian “xelex” Vincze earned an opening kill on a full buy to let MOUZ win a round. Another was secured only due to sh1ro missing a few moments for retake.

It still looked doable for MOUZ with four T rounds in their pocket. They won the CT pistols but then lost to Spirit’s eco buy — and Spirit managed to lose to MOUZ’s eco in the very next round.

Sadly for MOUZ, they couldn’t take anything else in this match. Spirit recovered on their force buy. After a couple of very close rounds, MOUZ found themselves with a broken economy. 

Team Spirit won the grand final and the entire BLAST Open tournament in Porto.

Analyzing the group stage runs: Dominant wins and shaky performances

Team Spirit had a flawless run in the BLAST Open Fall 2026 group stage. They won three matches with 2:0s, including those versus G2 Esports and FURIA.

MOUZ defeated two underdogs in their group, and then they won the upper final versus Team Falcons. That match demonstrated MOUZ’s really good competitive form.

Quarterfinal teams

Falcons have had a shaky period after lifting the Major trophy in Cologne. They had difficult matches against Lynn Vision Gaming, losing one map in each: Ancient. Falcons lost to MOUZ, dropping Ancient again and having 3:13 on Inferno.

FURIA did not have impressive wins against big teams. In the group stage, they defeated paiN Gaming and M80. FURIA lost the upper final to Spirit.

Vitality lost an opening match against Inner Circle, but they managed to recover via the lower brackets. Their match versus Legacy was unnecessarily nervous for a team of this level.

G2 Esports defeated relatively big opponents in the groups: Aurora and NAVI. Considering the newly former roster of Aurora and the disastrous recent results of NAVI, G2 still need to prove their current might.

There will be a break in tier 1 events after the tournament in Porto. All the top teams will gather for IEM Katowice 2026 in the iconic Spodek Arena from Oct. 3 to Oct. 11.

FISSURE Playground #3 (Sept. 8–13) and StarLadder StarSeries Fall 2026 (Sept. 17–20) fill the gap, but big teams are divided between these events, making the competition less representative.
